Bet-with-El RECAP Saturday 8 November 2014

This week we went to PARX Racing, Race 6, a $10,000 claimer for 3 year olds and up non-winners of 3, contested at the distance of 7 furlongs on the dirt, with a Purse of $23,000.   The weather was clear and the track was rated as fast.
We picked the #4 Horse, Louisville Bound to Win.  Louisville Bound came out of the gate 4th and veered in.  He seemed off and not on his game today, drifting several times.   He entered the stretch 3rd behind by 3 1/2 lengths.  He was eased but was able to hold on to the show spot finishing 3rd by 10 1/2 lengths.  Louisville Bound went off as the mild favorite at odds of 1.80.  He finished IN THE MONEY, but had to settle for 3rd, returning $2.20 for the show.
We had picked the #8 horse, School on a Hill to come in 2nd.  School on a Hill came out of the gate 2nd and drafted behind the #1 Horse, Denzel, much of the way.  School on a Hill entered the stretch 1st by 1/2 length and showed a nice closing kick taking the Win by 3 1/4 lengths.  School on a Hill went off at odds of 2.80 and returned $7.20, $4.20, and $2.80 for the win, place, and show respectively.  Denzel, the #1 Horse, who set the pace much of the way, had to settle for the place spot.  He went off at odds of 1.80 and returned $3.40 for the place and $2.20 for the show.
