Bet-with-El RECAP Saturday 31 May 2014

This week we went to Santa Anita Park, Race 7, The Californian G2 Stakes race, run at the 1 1/8 mile on the dirt for three year olds and up, with a Purse of $200,000.  The weather was clear and the track was rated as fast.
We picked the #1 horse, Clubhouse Ride to WIN.  Clubhouse Ride came out of the gate last and was unhurried.  As we predicted, Clubhouse Ride was coming to form for this race and defended his title honorably.   Clubhouse Ride inched his way up, passing other horses and overtaking the front-runner, the favorite Fury Kapcori..   Clubhouse Ride entered the stretch first and finished IN THE MONEY, taking the win by 1/2 length.  Clubhouse Ride went off at odds of 6.50 and returned $15.00, $4.40, and $3.00 for the win, place, and show respectively.  Clubhouse Ride earned $120,000 for this race and increased his total life purse earnings to $1,220,132.

We correctly predicted that the #2 Horse, Fury Kapcon, would go off as the favorite, but would not win and would take the place spot instead.   We recommended wagering an exacta box on Clubhouse Ride (#1) and Fury Kapcorn (#2).  The $2 exacta (1/2) returned $24.40.  Sky Kingdom was scratched by the trainer.
