Bet-with-El RECAP Saturday 27 September 2014

This week we went to Finger Lakes, Race 5, a 6 furlongs $5,000 claimer, run on the dirt for 3 years old and up, non-winners of 4, with a Purse of $9,000.  The weather was clear and the track was rated as fast.

We picked the #2 Horse, Bishamon, to WIN.  We expected this horse to run wire-to-wire and steal the win.  As predicted, that is the way Bishamon ran.  He came out of the gate good and entered the stretch 1st ahead by one length.  He was able to hold on to this lead and won the race by only a nose over the #7 Horse, Cat Squad, who showed a strong closing kick.  Bishamon put his nose on the wire first and finished IN THE MONEY and took the WIN.  Bishamon went off as the mild favorite at odds of 1.65.  His win returned $5.30, $2.90, and $4.10 for the win, place, and show respectively.
We picked the #6 Horse, Pete and David as a long shot.  Pete and David came out of the gate slowly and did not fire today.  He finished out of the money, finishing 8th.
