Bet-with-El RECAP Saturday 23 August 2014

This week we went to Charles Town, Race 8, The Frank Gall Memorial Stakes race, run at 7 furlongs on the dirt for 3 years old and up with a Purse of $50,000. The weather was cloudy and the sealed track was rated as muddy.

We picked Russell Road to WIN.  Russell Road had a good start coming out of the gate 1st.  He drafted the #7 Horse, Lucy’s Bob Boy, who went off as the favorite and ran the race wire to wire to take the win.   Unfortunately, Russell Road was not able to catch the winner and had to settle for the place spot, still finishing IN THE MONEY.  Russell Road went off at odds of 3.50 and returned $3.20 for the place.  There was no show payout, since Little Big Sime and Wise Mac were scratched by way of the stewards.  This left a field of only 5 horses and no show bets.
