Bet-with-El RECAP for Saturday July 6, 2013

Here is the recap  for July 6,  2013 for Bet-with-El.

We went to Mountaineer Park, Race 6, a 6 furlongs $5,000 claiming race, run on the dirt  for 3 years old and up, nonwinners of 2 with a purse of $9,000.  The weather was cloudy and the track was muddy (sealed).

We picked the #2 Horse, My Boy Jo to WIN.  My Boy Jo went off as the favorite at odds of 1.60.  My Boy Jo had a slow start coming out of the gate 7th.  He entered the stretch 6th swinging 5 wide.  Although he closed strong, he was too far behind and had to settle for fourth, finishing out of the money.  My Boy Jo was claimed out of that race and goes to a new barn and new trainer, Rodney D. Moyers.

We picked the  #1 Horse, Streaterville as the Long Shot.  Streater Ville went off at odds of 12.10.  Streater Ville came out of the gate 8th and entered the stretch 7th, 7 wide.  Streater Ville was behind by 9 lengths, but had a very strong closing kick and managed to finish IN THE MONEY, coming in 3rd.  The show bet returned $9.00 for a $2 bet.

Patrol Leader, the #8 horse, went off at long odds of 23.30.  Patrol leader came out of the gate 4th and was able to take the win with a nice return of $48.60, $19.80, and $10.20 for the win, place, and show respectively.
